Year 5’s German lesson

Kieran: 

On Thursday 4th June Mr Peet from Skegness Grammar School came to help us. He introduced us to a language called German. He helped us learn things like the name of some animals, here they are:

cow = kuh

sheep =schaf

dog = hund

chicken = huhn

Elephant = Elefant

Horse = Pferd

We also learned how to say; "I am called: Ich werde genannt" and we learnt how to say "I live in: Ich lebe in" for example Ich lebe in Skegness. Next he gave us a game where you had to match the cards (which had animals and their German names.)

And that was it our whole German lesson complete. 

Maddie: 

On Thursday 4th of June Year 5 had a German Teacher come into their classroom and teach them some words and animals in German, lots of pupils enjoyed it. 

A horse was called Pferd.

A sheep was called Schaf.

I live in was Ich lebe in

Frog was Frosch

Cow was Kuh

Dog was hund

Chicken was huhn

Cockerel was Hähnchen 

I am called Maddie was Ich heiße Maddie

I live in Skegness is Ich lebe in Skegness

Lots of children wished he would come back to teach us more German. Lots of children wished they could learn more animals and other words. I would like to learn some German games and some German foods.

Bobbi:

On the 4th of June year 5 had a German lesson. A year 8 German teacher came in from the Grammar School.
That is what we learnt.
We learnt what your name is, where you live and names of animals.

Elephant: Elefant

Dog: Die Hunt 

Cat: Katze

Bird: Vogel 

Chicken: Huhn 

Cow: Kuh

Horse: Pferd

Pig: Schwein

Frog: Frosch

On Thursday the 4th of June, us and the majority of the Y5 pupils experienced a lesson of German led by a German teacher from the Skegness Grammar School. During the lesson the teacher showed us and the members of the year 5 classes how to say and pronounce various words of the German vocabulary.

At the beginning of the lesson the talented German teacher taught us how to say: where we live, how to say our name, pronounce various different German words, various animals and where we live. The next activity we all participated in was a game that included animals in the German language that consisted of a variety of animals being matched up this pushed us as we had to apply the skills of knowing the German animals, the pupils partnered up in order to play the game.
